Carl S. Sauer

Carl B. Sauer 89 of Avon formerly Brownsburg, IN died February 26, 2018.  Carl was born May 24, 1928 in Indianapolis to A. Roman and Esther Catherine (Tex) Sauer.  Carl graduated from Sacred Heart High School He served our country in the United States Marine Corp.  Carl was a founding member of St Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church and is still a member.  Carl was a Pepsi route salesman before becoming a service manager for Hoosier Heating and Cooling CO. He then became an Indiana licensed insurance agent where he sold life insurance for Harold Life before it became United Life until his retirement in 1995.  Carl was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean (Williams) Sauer in 2008 and his children Carla McKinzie, Gary and Fred Sauer and his six siblings.  Calling will be held on Thursday March 01, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway from 5 to 8 pm.  Additional calling will be held on Friday March 02 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church beginning at 10 am followed by a funeral mass at 11 am.  Carl is survived by his children; Stephen (Linda) Sauer and Thomas Sauer and 7 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren; daughter in law; Sarah Sauer and son in law; Don McKinzie.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given to the Brownsburg Umpires Strike Out Cancer Relay for Life 5693 West 96^th Street Indianapolis, IN 46278 Online condolences and a video may be viewed at www.flannerbucnanan.com
