Carl M. Steele

Carl M. Steele passed away suddenly in his home in Noblesville, IN on 12/5/20 at the age of 85.

Carl is predeceased by his father and mother, Darl and Erma Steele, brother, Jack Steele and sister, Evelyn Deis.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Johnson) Steele, of 57 years. They were married in Lucerne, Missouri on August 18, 1963. Carl is also survived by three children, Mike (Vicky) Steele, Becky (Scott) Drlik, and Joel (Angie) Steele. Grandchildren: Christopher (Jessica) Russo, Michael, and Zachary Steele, Grant (Amber) Drlik, Morgan Drlik, Mike Wagner, Brady Drlik, Jessica Steele, Trent Dean, Connor Steele, Sophia Steele and Lillie Steele. Great-Grandchildren: Remington, Millie, Solomon and Bohdi. Sisters, Ruth (Ron) Kitchen and Anna Louise Carter. Sister-in-law, Louise McBain.

Carl was born in Unionville, Missouri on July 16, 1935. He graduated from Unionville High School and went on to earn a degree from University of Missouri. He moved to Westfield, IN in 1967 working for Ford Motor Credit. Soon after moving to Westfield he began working at Westfield Savings and Loan. He retired from First Indiana Bank, working as mortgage lender and branch manager. Carl also was in partnership with Joe Edwards, Edwards/Steele Tax Services for nearly 20 years. Carl served on the Washington Township Advisory Board for 36 years. Carl was an active member of Westfield Friends Church, he served on committees at Westfield Washington Schools and was a member of the Westfield Lions Club.

Carl enjoyed travels with Linda, fishing in Minnesota with friends, hunting with family in Missouri. He enjoyed spending time with all of his Grandkids and Great-Grandkids! Carl and Linda enjoyed winters in Ft. Myers, Florida. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and painting. He was a true craftsman.

The visitation will be held at Westfield Friends Church, 324 S Union Street, Westfield, IN on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm and Friday, December 11, 2020 from 9:00am -10:00am. The funeral service will also be held at Westfield Friends Church 324 S. Union, Westfield on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 10:00am with Doug Shoemaker officiating.
