Burton Woodrow Olinger

Burton Woodrow Olinger, 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on January 25, 2018. He was born August 1, 1935 in Scott County, Virginia to Worley and Clover Olinger.

He was born in Virginia, where he enlisted the National Guard, but he has called Indiana home since 1959. He was the owner of A-1 Tiling where he specialized in ceramic and marble tiling. Family recalls him being a man with a heart of gold and an excellent storyteller. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of meeting him.

Burton is predeceased by his parents; wives Bertha Olinger and Evelyn Olinger; siblings Cecil, Irene, and Carolyn. Surviving to cherish his memory are children, Gloria (Tim) Ratliff, Karen (Frankie) Hren, Debbie (Ed) Lake, Rich (Melinda) Miller, Katie (Kenny) Cross; siblings Polly Murray, Charlotte Web, Dennis Olinger; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Friends and family may visit Wednesday, January 31 from 5-8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222. Services for Burton will be held February 1 at 10 AM with interment at Floral Park Cemetery immediately following.
