Buddy E. Ray, Of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the age of 85. He was born in Rushville, IN on March 3, 1935 to Clyde E. Ray (of Indiana) and May (Richey) Ray (of Kentucky).
Upon Buddy’s completion of High School, he joined the US National Guard before joining the United States Air Force and proudly served his Country. Upon his discharge, he worked as a Truck Driver and in later years he did Security work.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and May (Richey) Ray; his first wife, Eleanor (Perrone) Ray; and their daughter, Angela Ray.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife, Barbara; children from his first marriage, Eugene Ray (Tammy McCann – fiancée) and Linda (Patrick) Diello; step-children, Julie (John) Gravens and Leslie (Donnie) Balding; grandchildren, Brandon Ray, Brittany (Rene) Mercado, Rachel and Zane Gravens, Thomas and Torin Balding; 4 great- grandsons; and several other family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 9201 E Co. Rd. 100 N, Avon, IN on June 6, 2020. Visitation will begin at 2pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 3pm. The Church sits back from the road: If you are traveling from the East, the entrance is about a half a mile West of Ronald Reagan Parkway. If you get to the roundabout, you have gone too far. If you are coming from the West, the entrance is just past the roundabout. Our Shepherd is on the South side of 10th Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Our Shepherd Lutheran Church or the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Buddy – Thank you.
