Brittany Melissa York

Brittany Melissa “Sissy” York, 31, of Indianapolis passed away on October 14, 2020. She was born on March 25, 1989 to Kim York in Indianapolis, Indiana. Brittany was absolutely one of a kind. She never knew a stranger. Anyone who knew Brittany loved her. Brittany was positive, selfless, and just downright the sweetest girl. She was always smiling and laughing—the party was undoubtedly wherever she went. Her smile lit up the room and her presence was known. She loved animals, kids, and her family. She was her mom’s beloved mini me.  Her free spirit will be missed deeply by all the lives she has touched.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her Mom, Kim York (Jason LaVertu); her brothers, Tony York and Dillon York (Lily); her grandparents, Jennifer and Don Smith and Kenneth and Annie York; her adored and beloved nephew, Grayson; her Aunt, Kelly (Steve) Mead; her cousins, Justin Gregory and Jenny and Kerry Mundy; her second cousins, Makenzi, Rowan, Otis, Channing, and Milani; her fur babies, Martini and Missy; and an extended list of cousins, family members, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her boyfriend, Daniel Witter.

A memorial gathering will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington St. from 1PM-4PM. A memorial service and sharing of memories will begin at 4PM.
