Bridgett Jeanette (Bravard) Smith, 45, of New Palestine, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019.
She was born on August 15, 1974 in Indianapolis to Glen D. and Debra J. (Henry) Bravard. Bridgett was a 1992 graduate of Howe High School and earned a degree as a Dental Assistant. She went to work with Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield and was the youngest Dental Lead in the history of the company. Bridgett dedicated 15 years of service, leaving Anthem to devote more time to her family. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and she was passionate about her sons. Bridgett was a loyal volunteer for the local Autism Society of Indiana and enjoyed travelling with her family. She was a caring person, who always put the needs of others before her own. Bridgett was charismatic and funny; people would naturally gravitate to her.
Bridgett is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Brian D. Smith; sons, Tucker and Cooper. Bridgett is also survived by her parents; Glen and Debby Bravard; sisters, Chera Bravard, Whitney Bravard and her companion, John Johnson; father-in-law, Jerry Smith; mother-in-law, Kaye Davis; sister-in-law, Jennifer Smith-Browne and her husband, Ben; brother-in-law, Tim Smith and his wife, Tonya; along with many special nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 11AM-1PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, with a celebration of life service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Heartspring, a leader and innovator in creating hope and opportunity for children with special needs and their families. www.heartspring.org.
