Celebrating the Life of Bridget Swinney-Kajzer
Indianapolis, Indiana — Bridget Swinney-Kajzer, born on February 9, 1979, passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a beloved daughter of Mary Cangany and Daryl Swinney, and her life was deeply shaped by her devotion to being a mother to her daughter, Fritzie, her dedication to public education, and her involvement with the 100 Voices of Hope Fund.
Bridget loved being Fritzie’s mom. She and her husband, Ryan, shared the joy of watching Fritzie play sports. As a family they enjoyed basketball games, concerts, and traveling the U.S. Her family was her heart; she was a loving wife, a beloved sister, a caring daughter, and a doting aunt to her nephew, Terrence.
As an advocate for the public education system, she found her calling as an art teacher in Indianapolis Public Schools, where she inspired her students to explore the world with creativity and curiosity.
A supporter of cancer research, Bridget worked closely with the 100 Voices of Hope Fund, a grassroots effort dedicated to funding research to end metastatic breast cancer. Since 2014, she raised over $18,000 to support this cause.
Bridget is preceded in death by her brother Jack. She is survived by her husband, Ryan Kajzer; her daughter, Fritzie Kajzer; her sister, Meagan Swinney; her nephew, Terrence Swinney; and her parents, Mary Cangany and Daryl Swinney.
Bridget’s presence brought brightness, warmth, and humor to everyone around her. She leaves a legacy of love, creativity, and loyalty that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
