Brian William Sipe

Brian W. Sipe, M.D., passed away August 7, 2018 at the age of 48. Born in Chicago in 1969, Brian was raised in the San Diego area. After graduation from The Bishop’s School in La Jolla, CA, he attended Kenyon College, where he received a B.A. in political science. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 1996. Following residency at Indiana University Hospitals, he practiced as a gastroenterologist and obesity physician in the Indianapolis area.
In 2001, he married Monika Fischer, M.D., who survives. Also surviving are sons Ben and Aaron, parents Jack C. Sipe, M.D. and Bonnie B. Sipe of La Jolla, brother Kevin D. Sipe and his wife Noriko Kotani of Kyoto, Japan, and nieces Mariko and Mitsuko.
Calling will be held Sunday, August 12 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., with service to follow at 3:30 p.m., at Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46220.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Trust for the Benefit of Benjamin Sipe, 1715 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46202.
