A BRIEF SKETCH OF LIFE
Brenda Fern Vandever was born on July 24,1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Roberta Sargent Minor and William Marshall. Brenda was the oldest daughter.
Brenda professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was an active member of Trinity CME Church and Eastern Star Church, Indianapolis Indiana. Brenda married Everett Vandever and from that union three sons were born. David, Charles, and Damon Vandever. Brenda was employed with Allisons Transmission for many years in senior level management positions and retired early after many years of service.
Brenda was a very loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, friend and cousin who will be remembered and cherished for her unconditional love she bestowed on so many. Brenda will always be cherished and remembered for her vivacious personality, sense of humor, willingness to help others and her generosity. Brenda enjoyed going to church, reading books and going to MCL Restaurant for family gatherings and getting “Frosty” from Wendys with her grandchildren.
Brenda departed this life on December 22, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Faye Marshall.
She is survived by her devoted sons, David, Charles, and Damon. brother, James Minor Sr., loving niece Shannan Marshall-McKinstry (Timothy McKinstry) and devoted nephew Shaun Crayton (Kelly Crayton), grandchildren Jaden Vandever, Jamal Vandever, Maurice Vandever, Tamika Shauntay Vandever, Whitney Lynn Vandever along with a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
