Brenda M. Thacker, 83, of Indianapolis passed away on July 16, 2024. She was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on July 4, 1941. Brenda was born to parents William Payton Sharp and Florine (Gravens) Beeker. Brenda attended Arsenal Tech High School. She was a dedicated TV Hostess for many years for Winona Hospital. 65 years ago, she married the love of her life, Herschel. Together they created many beautiful memories that will be cherished forever. Brenda was blessed with many gifts—from her natural beauty to her green thumb, and to her ability to draw and sing. She had the voice of an angel—emulating the styles of Loretta Lynn and Olivia Newton John. She took pride in her beautifully kept garden and enjoyed planting and maintaining her flowers and plants. Brenda was a lover of all animals. She even was a well renowned Maltese puppy breeder at one time. Brenda wore many hats in her lifetime. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was nurturing and compassionate to all but especially to children. She loved her kids and her grandbabies. Brenda was a breath of fresh air, and she will be missed by all those who were lucky enough to experience her kindness.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Herschel Thacker; her children, Tonya (Paul) Benz, Bryan Thacker, Edwin Thacker, and Tim (Kathy) Thacker; siblings, Lou Beeker Schultz; her grandchildren, Bobby, April, Jayson, Bryce, Brandon, and Chris; her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Stella, Emma, Shadai, and Sebastian; her nieces and nephews, Alexandra Schultz, BK Bartley, Tonie Barrett-Wilson, Derek Thacker, Steve Thacker; surviving aunt, Rachael Lyons, surviving uncle, Charles Gravens, several cousins and her adored furbabies, Bella and Muffy.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, William Payton Sharp and Florine (Gravens) Beeker; her siblings, Barbara and Jackie; her niece, Terri McClain, and her beloved dog, Skippy.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 11AM-1PM at Flanner Buchanan—Washington Park East. A funeral service will follow at 1PM. Brenda will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery.
