Brenda Kay Alford

Brenda Kay Alford, 60, of Indianapolis, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 30, 2017 after a brief illness. Brenda was born on April 8, 1957 in Greenfield, Indiana. She was a 1975 graduate of North Central High School and attended Purdue University. She continued with her education at IUPUI.

Brenda loved Jesus, her family, and friends deeply and expressed it with her many talents. She was a sweet and wonderful aunt and great-aunt and always thought up the most creative projects to work on together. Brenda maintained long-term friendships, knowing what to say and do for others when they needed it. She created art and keepsakes for friends and family that will always be treasured. Her friends labeled her the “animal whisperer”, a talent that served her well in her many experiences working with God’s four-legged creatures. Her hugs made everyone feel better and she will always be remembered as “sweet Brenda”.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 1 at Flanner Buchanan, Carmel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 Thursday, November 2, at Flanner Buchanan where additional gathering will be from 10:00 am until the time of service.

Brenda is survived by her mother, Karen Gross Alford; sister, Becky Scholl; sister, Amy (husband Tom Flynn); nieces and nephews, Neil, Megan, Gia, Beck Giannini; Justin, Maribeth, Maddox Flynn; Jonathon, Jenna Scholl. Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Billy J. Alford.
