Brenda J. Reid

Brenda was born to Clark and Lula Mays April 11,1952 in Chicago IL, later they moved their family to South Bend IN where she was raised with 3 siblings: Roslyn Collins, Michael Mays, Sr., and Wanda Wyatt. She went on to graduate from Washington High School in 1970 and later completed Nursing School at IU. She devoted over 30 years to nursing and after retirement she continued to care for her friends and family.

In 1992 she met her husband, Larry Reid. They lived in Indianapolis where they raised their family until moving to Arizona for retirement.

Brenda loved family and spending time playing card games and watching movies. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and grand dogs.

On the evening of September 12, 2022, God gave our Angel her wings. She was proceeded in death by her parents Clark and Lula Mays.

She is survived by her husband Larry Reid, her daughters: Joslyn Higgins, Javonda Freeman, and Joy Vann-Austin (Dale); her grandchildren: Jade Reed, Rashaad Poindexter, Brooklyn Higgins, and Danyale and Jordyn Austin. Brenda was the loving Matriarch of a beautiful blended family, including 1 bonus daughter and 3 bonus sons and grandkids.
