Brady Edwin Brooks, Sr. was born on August 4, 1950, in Waynesburg, PA, and passed away on February 22, 2025, in Washington, PA. A devoted husband, brother, father, and grandfather, Brady's life was characterized by kindness, warmth, and a delightful sense of humor that made all who knew him feel at ease.
He spent many years of his life serving in the Armed Forces, proudly retiring as a member of the 509th Army Airborne and as a Green Beret in Special Forces. His time in service shaped his character and instilled in him a deep appreciation for family and camaraderie that lasted throughout his life.
Brady was a passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, often indulging in his hobby of collecting Steelers memorabilia. His love for the team reflected the same loyalty and dedication he showed throughout all aspects of his life.
Brady cherished every moment spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. He built a legacy filled with love that will resonate throughout their lives. He had an infectious enthusiasm and shared his life experiences, creating indelible memories that will be treasured forever.
He is survived by two sons, Brady E. Brooks, Jr. and Brian C. Brooks (Stefanie), who carry forward the values and love he instilled in them. Grandchildren, Ava Sherryl Brooks and Beckham Steven Brooks; brothers, Barry Brooks (Mary) and Brett Brooks (Valerie).
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sherryl Brooks, with whom he shared 43 wonderful years. Their journey together was one filled with love and partnership.
As we remember Brady Edwin Brooks, Sr., we hold close the love he shared, the lessons he taught, and the laughter he brought into our lives. His spirit will forever remain a guiding light, reminding us to cherish each moment and to love fiercely, just as he did.
A memorial gathering will be held from 10:00am – 12:00pm, immediately following with a celebration of life on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd W. Dr. Indianapolis.
