Bradley H. Buriff

July 30, 1960 — September 22, 2024

Indianapolis, Indiana

Bradley "Brad" H. Buriff, age 64, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Cooper City, Florida, passed away on the morning of Sunday, September 22nd, after a brief illness. Surrounded by the family he cherished, Brad left this world in Indianapolis, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and joy that will endure.

Brad shared a beautiful 30-year friendship and marriage with his beloved wife, Carolyn Beurskens Buriff. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support for each other. He was a devoted father to Charissa Abud and her husband, Alex Abud, always prioritizing their happiness and well-being. He was also a doting grandfather, affectionately known as “Pops,” to Avianna Abud, and a proud “Bonus Pops” to Anthony Abud, both of whom brought endless joy and light into his life.

Born on July 30, 1960, in Troy, Ohio, Brad was the son of George and Ruth (Brent) Buriff. He moved to South Florida at the age of five and graduated in 1978 from McArthur High School in Hollywood, FL. Brad will be remembered for the immense love he poured into his family and friends, and for the countless memories, jokes, and laughter he shared with them. He will especially be missed as part of “The Fab Five”- you know who you are.

Family was at the heart of Brad’s life. Whether enjoying special moments at home, cheering on his grandchildren, or offering his wisdom and humor to friends, neighbors, and even strangers. He’s the guy that lit up the room every time he entered. Brad had an uncanny ability to bring joy to everyone he met. Often referred to as “The Mayor,” he was known for his outgoing nature and boundless enthusiasm for life, even in the face of challenges. Twice a laryngeal cancer warrior and survivor, Brad exemplified resilience, always making the best of every situation. He was the best friend you never knew you needed until you met him, and his legacy will live on in our hearts, in every smile, every family gathering, and every shared story.

Brad is survived by his wife, Carolyn Beurskens Buriff; his daughter and son-in-law, Charissa and Alex Abud; his grandchildren, Avianna and Anthony Abud; his beloved mother, Ruth Buriff; his siblings, Brent and Deborah Buriff, Barbara and Paul Gordon, and Beverly and James Devine; his treasured mother-in-law, Irma Beurskens; his sisters-in-law, Dr. Maureen Beurskens and Juliette Parker; his nieces and nephews, Jeffrey and Patricia Buriff, Nicholas and Nicole, Danielle and Nick (Colon), and Joseph Devine, Dylan Gordon, Ian and Marina Parker, Joelle Parker, Perry and Katie Coumas, Owen Coumas, Ace (Adrian) and Kinsey Coumas, and Tim and Krisa Salter; great nieces and nephews, JJ, Autumn, and Christian Buriff, Conner, Addison and Ephram Howell, Camden and Cooper Colon, Michelle and Daniel Parker, Layah Salter, Sawyer and Remy Coumas.

He was preceded in death by Father, George Buriff; Father-in-law, Pierre Beurskens; Niece, Michelle Lee Howell; and Nephew, Shane Buriff.

Two celebrations of Brad’s life will be held: one in Indiana and another in South Florida. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the love and joy he shared with all who knew him.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Geist, located at 7855 Cork Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. A brief service will follow at 7:30 PM to celebrate Brad’s life together.

Though we will miss his presence, Brad Buriff’s love, laughter, and light will forever remain with us, woven into the fabric of our lives.
