Bonnie Terrill Ross

December 27, 1956 — April 6, 2022

Indianapolis, Indiana

Bonnie Terrill Ross was born December 27, 1956 to Paul and Gloria Terrill.  She loved growing up in Danville Indiana and was raised by family, teachers, and glorious friends.  She enjoyed country living and all her pets.

Her husband, David Ross was the love of her life and they were married almost 40 years.  They were blessed with two fantastic children Joshua (Sara) in Newton Centre, MA and Samantha (Ryan) in Hudson, NY.  They have four precious grandchildren Bennet, Madeline, Ella, and Cooper.  Bonnie is also survived by her brother Danny, and three sisters Christine (John), Rosalyn (Dwight) and Miriam (Ned); and numerous nieces and nephews.  Her parents preceded her in death.

Bonnie obtained a bachelor’s degree in Foods and Nutrition from Purdue University and graduated with honors in an accelerated undergraduate program.  She also obtained a Master of Science degree from the University of Tennessee in Public Health Nutrition.  Her expertise was oncology nutrition and worked in the Radiation Oncology Department at Methodist Hospital.  She took on a leadership role in advocating and educating others.  She lectured all over the country, participated in multiple research projects, numerous interviews, and published articles.  She also started a consulting company called Designs For Health of Indiana.  She was an adjunct professor teaching nutrition classes at Harrison College and was a frequent guest lecturer at Purdue University.

Bonnie was a dedicated volunteer and donor at Second Helpings, which was her passion.  The staff and other volunteers at Second Helpings became a second family.  Aside from enjoying time with her family and friends, her interests include yoga, the arts, anything with nature, gardening, fishing, hiking, birds, Book Club, cooking, biking and travel to far away places.  She loved her vegetable garden and sharing with her neighbors.
