Bonnie Iris Williams

December 30, 1934 — November 1, 2018

Indianapolis, Indiana

Bonnie I. Williams, 83, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away November 1, 2018. She was born December 30, 1934 in Van Buren, Indiana to Cecil and Helen Palmer; she was one of two daughters.

Bonnie graduated from Warren High School in Van Buren, Indiana. It was there she met the love of her life, Roger Williams. The two married in 1963 and spent 51 beautiful years together raising their 4 children. They loved traveling together, going on adventures from Cancun to England.  They remained deeply in love upon Roger’s passing December 30, 2014. Bonnie was a devoted member of Camby Community Church, where she had attended faithfully since the late 1960s.  She loved yard work, everything from tending to her vegetable garden to pulling weeds, it all brought her joy. She canned vegetables and later prepared them for her family, meals they will not soon forget. She also enjoyed painting ceramics and crocheting, but mostly she adored her family. Bonnie loved to keep busy, especially if it meant spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family describes her as a sweet woman who never complained, but sure could get feisty. And as a social woman with a wonderful sense of humor, who never asked anyone for anything, but wasn’t shy about making suggestions in her favor.  She loved shopping, although she was known to be a copycat during shopping trips. She would often purchase items those around her loved or already owned, from clothing to  home decor. Just ask her granddaughter about the infamous dress. Although all these things make up parts of Bonnie’s life, she is most remembered for being a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who were blessed enough to meet her; she will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Helen; loving husband of 51 years, Roger; son, Brian Williams; sister, Joyce Moore. Surviving to cherish her memory are children, Michael Williams, Tamara (Eric) Lawrence, Stacey (Terry) Bennett; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Jo Williams; 10 loving grandchildren; 7 loving great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family members.

Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, November 6 from 4-8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township. Services will take place Wednesday, November 7 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Bonnie will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana immediately following services.
