Bonnetta "Bonnie" L. Reeves was born November 12, 1929 at Gravette, AR the daughter of Charles Blackburn and Lela (Allen) Blackburn. She passed away September 11, 2024 at her apartment in Carmel, IN at the age of 94.
She was united in marriage to W. Clare Reeves at Lockport, IL on August 7, 1955 until his death on December 1, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Lela Blackburn; husband W. Clare Reeves; sister Mary Wright Carroll; and brothers Kenneth Blackburn and Luther Blackburn.
She is survived by her sons; Gary Reeves and wife Julie of Venice, FL; Roger Reeves and wife Kathy of Carmel, IN; and Brian Reeves and wife Jenny of Maryville, TN. She had 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
After graduating from high school in Gravette, AR, Bonnie received her business accounting certificate from Springfield Business College in Springfield, MO. She moved to Joliet, IL in 1949 and worked at Caterpillar Tractor for a few years. She met her husband in Joliet and enjoyed roller skating and bowling.
She assisted Clare at the Texaco Refinery Credit Union in Lockport for several years as they raised their family in Plainfield, IL. She worked for H&R Block and assisted people with their taxes for several years. She spent a few years in Houston and Midland, TX before retiring to Nixa, MO near her siblings in the greater Branson/Springfield area.
She enjoyed gardening her entire life and canned most of the vegetables. She volunteered at the Nixa Senior Center for nearly twenty years before moving to Independence Village in Carmel, IN in 2019. She was active in the book club and super seniors bible study.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Flanner Buchanan - Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive, with Rev. Brian White officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
