Bobby Eugene Lewis, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016. He was born on February 11, 1934 in Gilley, KY to the late Lawrence and Doshia (Cornett) Lewis. Bobby was a 1954 graduate of Kingdom Come High School and worked for 33 years with International Harvester, now Navistar, retiring in 1988. Bobby was a Past Master of the Englewood Masonic Lodge, Past Master of the Capital City Lodge, Past Master of the Irvington Chapter OES and active in the Scottish Rite, York Rite and Federated Craft. He was also a Yellow Shirt at the IMS, Past President of the Local 98 Retirees Committee and enjoyed bowling. Bobby was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash and was an honorary Kentucky Colonel. He is survived by his daughter, Debra Lewis; granddaughter, Susan Earnest; sister, Mable Starling of Sterling Heights, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Lillian (Higgins) Lewis. Visitation for Mr. Lewis will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from 2-8pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East. Funeral services will be Friday, November 25, 2016 at 10am, also in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association, American Kidney Foundation, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
