Billy Ray Whiting,

77, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, February 28^th, 2018.  Bill was born on August 13^th, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN to Walter & Exie Whiting (Stark). During his younger years Bill was a Sergeant in the United States Army, a member of the Scottish Rite, JC’s of Cloverdale and owner of the local bar Changes Bar & Grill.  Later in life he became an avid Hot Wheel collector, a good friend with even better stories, and enjoyed in final years spending time and traveling with his companion, Jean Keller and meeting her children.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sandra (Job) Whiting; his second wife, Helen (Garrigus) Whiting; and his two brothers, Delbert “Gene” and Paul Whiting Sr. He is survived by his sister, Betty Moore; his children, Vicki McClain and Bruce Whiting; his grandchildren Brandon McClain Jr., Cali McClain, Dakota McClain, and Mia Whiting; 5 step children, 6 step grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; his loving companion, Jean Keller; and Jean’s grandchildren and great grandchildren who referred to him as Grandpa Bill.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 11am-1pm at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 North Holt Road, Indianapolis. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1pm.
