Billy Lee Jackson, age 82, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Avon. He was born in Maryville, Tennessee to the late Helen and Durward Jackson on April, 4, 1934.
Bill operated and owned Jackson's Amoco at 38th and High School Road for over 25 years until his retirement in 1994, and he was a veteran of the US Navy.
While Bill had many professional accomplishments, he was best known to us as the kindest and loving husband, father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather in the world. He met the love of his life, Betty Jo, early in life and spent 60 years spoiling her with daily foot massages and caring for her even after her death. He was a compassionate and caring father, and a Grandfather and Great-Grandfather who delighted in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anyone who knew Bill knew that he was a true follower of Jesus Christ. Bill was an active member of Light and Life Free Methodist Church in Avon, and embodied the Christian spirit in his actions and his words every day.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Joshua and his loving wife Betty. He is survived by his daughter Terri McGavock and Kathy Childers, his grandchildren Holly McGavock, Heather Gomez and Justin Childers, his great-grandchildren Ethan Loveday, Mila Gomez, Elijah Childers and Eliana Childers. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends who cherished him.
We all miss him terribly but delight in knowing that he's been reunited in heaven wife and covering her in kisses from all of us.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 11 at Flanner and Buchanan at 2950 N. High School Road in Speedway, with a viewing from 11am-1pm and a service immediately following at 1pm.
