Billy G Campbell

Billy Gene Campbell Sr., 88, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018.

Billy was born on September 5, 1930 in Gilmore, IN. He moved to Indianapolis in 1950 and has been deemed his hometown ever since. Billy married the love of his life, Clara, on June 28, 1963. Billy worked for Allison Transmissions for 9 years and the United Oil Service for 26 years. He retired in 1988. Billy enjoyed watching old Westerns and Indiana University Basketball. He also loved going on drives and feeding animals at the park. His kind spirit will be missed sorely by all the lives he touched.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Clara Campbell, of Indianapolis. He is also survived by his sons, Billy G. Campbell Jr., of Indianapolis, IN, Gary M. Campbell Sr. (Linda S. Campbell), of Brownsburg, IN, Donald R. Campbell, Joseph M. Campbell, and Robert “Bobby” G. Campbell, all of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Dolores Stanton, of Columbus, IN; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry W. Campbell and Ernestine G. Campbell of Loogootee, IN; and his sister, Debbie K. Bryant.

A visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park 425 N. Holt Rd. INDPLS 46222 on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 6PM-8PM.
