Billy F. Blythe, 75, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2020. He was born on May 5, 1945 to the late Grady and Opal Blythe in Tompkinsville, Kentucky.
After moving to Indiana as a young boy he met the love of his life at 16 years old. In 1965 he married Dorothy “Diane” Blythe and together they began their family in Indianapolis and had two children. Billy worked for General Motors for over 30 years as a forklift operator, but in his free time he loved golf outings with his Sister, Brother in Law and many friends, watching all sports, but especially loved watching the Colts play, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife of over 55 years Dorothy “Diane” Blythe; children, Billy Blythe Jr., and Connie Durham (Roger); three adoring grandchildren Billy Blythe III, Erica Johnson (Devon), Nicole Dickey (Larry); and two great grandchildren Brennan Blythe, Larry Dickey III, with one on the way. 3 loving Sisters, Judy Kendall (Kenny), Patricia Asher (Wayne), and Janet White. As well as several Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews and so many friends. All who knew him loved him. He was preceded in Death by his Father, Grady Blythe, Mother, Opal Blythe, Sisters, Barbara Young, Kathleen Iaria. Brothers, Ricky Blythe and Stevie Blythe.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229, from 12 noon – 12:30pm for Family and 12:30 to 2pm for all with funeral services to begin at 2 PM. A livestream will begin at 2PM and friends and family are welcome to join by using the following link – https://youtu.be/ZtZOxpz5rbE . Masks are required at all times in the facility. The Family also wanted to make sure that if you are uncomfortable attending that they understand as Bill would have wanted everyone to be safe and the family will plan a celebration of life in May for all to attend.
