Our loving mother, Billie Jo (Fisher) Riggers, of Indianapolis, sadly passed away on January 22, 2025, at the age of 79.
Billie was born on September 25, 1945, to the late Pauline Marie “Dixie” (Cook) Fisher and Warren Fisher on the west side of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rachel Wagner (Karl), and is survived by her loving brother, Warren “Sonny” Fisher (Sheila).
Billie graduated from George Washington High School in 1964 and attended Indiana University, Bloomington, for a time after high school. In September 1967, she married the love of her life, Donald G. Riggers, son of the late George Riggers and Ruth Riggers Couden (Lyle). They spent 43 years together before Don’s passing in 2010.
In 1971, Billie and Don welcomed their twin boys, David E. Riggers (Angela) and John G. Riggers, who blessed them with five beautiful granddaughters: Amira, Farah, Hanna, Gabriella, and Katherine, whom they adored. Billie was a very big part of her granddaughters’ lives and will be greatly missed by all of them.
Billie was always known for her sweet, soft voice and her constant smile. She enjoyed her morning tea, reading, traveling, plants, and animals, and loved her dog, Bessie, more than anything.
