Beverly Ruth Oakley

Beverly Ruth Oakley passed peacefully at home on Sunday, November 13, 2022. She was 91 years old and was born in a log cabin in Athens County Ohio. She attended school in Athens, Ohio and lived in nearby Nelsonville until moving to Oxford, Ohio in 1980. For the last several years she has resided with her son in Indianapolis.

Beverly worked at several retail establishments in Oxford before retiring.  She was an avid gardener, walker, reader and baker.  Many people in Oxford saw their waistlines expand as a result of her homemade bread deliveries thru the years. She was fortunate to have traveled throughout Europe, the US and Caribbean over the years.

Her surviving family includes son, Stefan S. Davis, Indianapolis; daughter, Joyce Bladel (Jim Bladel), Prescott, Arizona; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Weinkauf, California; and sister, Nancy Bachtis Chapman (Ron Chapman), Portsmouth, Ohio.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Ruth Bachtis; and a sister, Joyce Bachtis.

A private family service will be held.
