Beverly Joan Preston

Beverly J. Preston, 80, of Indianapolis passed away on June 29, 2018. She was born February 21, 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Robert and Portia Peel; one of three daughters.

Beverly married the love of her life, William, in 1958. The two moved to Indiana in the 60s and remained happily married until his passing in 1998. She spent most of her adult life as a mother and homemaker but spent 26 of those years as a bus driver for Washington Township Schools. She loved sports of all kinds, going to the beach, but mostly she loved her family. Family remembers her as a stubborn woman with a great sense of humor and love for dogs, especially her pit mix, Carly. She was a one of a kind woman and will be greatly missed by those around her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Portia; husband of almost 40 years, William; sister, Arlene Nelson. Surviving to cherish her memory are children, Randall (Laurie) Preston and Kim Preston; sister, Bonnie Peel; 5 grandchildren as well as two nephews Rick and Ron Nelson, whom she helped raise after her sister’s passing.

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, July 2 from 10-12 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park North. Services will take place at 12 PM. Beverly will be laid to rest at Washington Park North Cemetery immediately following services.
