Beverly Jean Haywood

Beverly Jean Haywood, 82, Anderson, passed away May 7, 2021. She was born in Indianapolis to Raymond L. and Mary Marie Hahn Hickman. She attended and graduated from Lawrence Central Highschool,1952-1956. She married Eugene Richard (Dick) Ahlefeld in 1957. They had three children Marcia, Rick and Dane. They moved from Indianapolis to Pendleton, Indiana in 1978 where she loved golfing and gardening. She later graduated from Barber school and opened her own shop in Maxwell, Indiana. In retirement, she married Dale Haywood. They lived in Tell City Indiana on a small farm with a log cabin & traveled around the United States sightseeing. They later moved to Homosassa, Florida.

Her hobbies were sewing, quilting, camping, fishing and enjoying family outings.

She was preceded in death by her parents (Raymond and Mary Hickman) and husband (Dale Haywood). Survivors include Marcia Harker (Larry), Rick Ahlefeld, and Dane Ahlefeld (Angi). Grandchildren are Nikki Haler (Jeremiah), Ashley Yorek (Jeremy), Carlie Harker, Jaycee Ahlefeld, Kayla Ahlefeld, Kendall Ahlefeld. Great grandchildren are Clayton Haler, Aubri Haler, Khloe Haler, Aliyah Yorek, Elin Yorek, Mayleigh Yorek, Emerly Yorek, Cypress Ahlefeld and Oaklyn Yorek. She has three siblings Raymond Hickman (Maxine), Sherry Ramey (Dave), and Susie Melvin (Dave).

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:30am-12:00pm at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Good Shepherd Chapel). 9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis. Funeral services will begin there at 12:00 pm.
