Beverly Janice Cox Carter passed away on May 20,2021 at her home in Indianapolis with her children by her side. She is survived by her children: Robert Carpentier (Cheryl), Carol Carpentier, Cathy Carpentier DeDecker(Al), Jody Carpentier Klem ( Richard), Tom Carpentier (Tracey), seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Russell Survant and Robert Cox
Beverly was born on March 21, 1929 to Frank and Corda Cox in her home in Indianapolis. She later moved to New Castle where she graduated from New Castle High school. She went on to Indiana University where she purchased a degree in Education. Later she obtained a master’s degree from Butler University
She spent her life servicing and enriching others as an educator, guidance counselor and a foster care administrator.
She was also passionate collector on antiques, jewelry and vintage apparel and purses. Upon retirement, she turned this passion and her innate ability for finding valuable treasures for nominal costs into an internet business.
She was an adventurer; her curiosity to explore new countries and cultures inspired her to travel throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East as well as all over the United States.
She was an artist; her creativity was showcased in the jewelry she made, the furniture she painted, her sewing projects and her talent for decorating.
She was a giver; her generosity and selfless attitude knew no bounds.
She was an optimist; her positive disposition was a beacon of light that shined through everything she did.
She was a role model; she never wavered from her convictions, lead by example by holding steadfast to her strong beliefs in kindness, fairness, honesty, and equality and doing what is right. She was an inspiration for not only her family but to all those she encountered.
She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. Her family is what sustained her. Her love and devotion to them was never ending. Her life will live on forever in the hearts of all those who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Monday at 11 on May 24, 2021. The funeral will be at 12 noon the same day at Flanner Buchanan Funeral Center, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana
