Beverley J. Ryan

April 2, 1938 — August 4, 2023

Indianapolis, IN

Beverley J. Ryan, age 85 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on August 4, 2023 at her home where she was surrounded by loved ones.  She had fought a long, hard battle with cancer.

Beverley was born on April 2, 1938 in South Bend, Indiana, a daughter of Earl Butler Fogle and Mildred (Troeger) Fogle.

In 1957 Beverley graduated from Washington Clay High School in South Bend Indiana.

She met her life-long sweetheart before she was 13 years old and she married Gilbert Ryan on January 3, 1959.  They shared their lives for 72 years and were to celebrate their 65th anniversary on January 3, 2024.

She is survived by her husband as well as her daughter, Pam Bloss of Indianapolis, Indiana. She had three grandchildren: Christopher Bloss, Katie Bloss, Jacob Bloss and a “granddaughter in love”, Amber Bloss.  She also treasured her three great grandchildren: Conner, Keegan and Kendall Bloss.

Beverley is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Peterson and brother, Richard Fogle (Teri), brother-in-law, Aldrich Rusthoven as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and many great friends and extended “family”.

Beverley was preceded in death by one son: Steven Ryan who passed away on December 28, 2022.  Waiting for her in heaven is also her sister, Shirley Rusthoven (Aldy), Brothers-in-law Edward Ryan, Eugene Ryan and Ronald Peterson as well as sisters-in-law Shirley Ryan and Nora Ryan. She will also join many close friends.

Beverley was a woman of faith who based her life in her faith, family and friends.  She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Indianapolis.  Beverly worked in Human Resources for many years at Rand McNally and made many life long friends.  She loved to travel, decorate for all seasons and holidays and was a lifelong choir member.  Bev also had a great love for the beach and anything Disney.   Beverley made it her mission to make everyone feel welcome and loved.  She took great pride in including everyone.  There was not a holiday or event that would go unmarked with a handwritten card from her.  Friends and family could look forward to receiving her greetings.  The friends of grandchildren and great grandchildren even called her grandma.  People were naturally drawn to her and her personality.

She will be missed by many.
