Betty L. Frazer passed away on January 15, 2023, at the age of 95. Betty was born in Indianapolis, IN on July 2, 1927. Her parents were Clifford and Nancy (Barnhill) Vehling.
She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1945. On June 29, 1947, Betty married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Joe E. Frazer. They were married for 47 years until Joe’s passing in 1994.
Betty was a devoted member of Linwood Christian Church for 65 years. She worked for Indiana National Bank for more than 20 years as a bank teller and branch administrator, and later worked in the Trust department before retiring.
Betty was a loving, humble woman. She was an incredibly talented artist and loved painting. She spent hours in her garden, tending to her vegetables and flowers. Betty was an excellent baker and cook, and her family looked forward to her meals and treats. She and her family loved spending time together at the family cottage on Lake Shafer, chatting by the water, fishing, playing cards and croquet. Betty enjoyed travel after her retirement and took memorable trips to London, Vienna, St. Johns, the Bahamas, the Canadian Rockies, Hawaii, and many other destinations across the U.S. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.
Betty was a devoted wife, mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be sorely missed.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Nancy Vehling; husband, Joseph E. Frazer; son, Joseph K. Frazer (Roseanna); and brother Bill Vehling (Amy).
Betty is survived by her children: Steven Frazer (Linda), Nancy Ballard and Kathy Frazer (Christopher Allen); grandchildren Thomas Ballard, Doug Frazer, Sean Frazer, Irene Loy, Megan Chenault, Andy Chenault, Corey Chenault; 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 8pm on Monday, January 23, 2023 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis. Additional visitation will be Tuesday from 10-11am. Funeral services will be at 11am Tuesday, January 24th. Entombment will follow services in Washington Park East Cemetery with a light lunch served at a private room at the funeral home after entombment service.
