Betty June Canter, 78, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away December 21, 2019. She was born on January 13, 1941 to the late Clayton M. and Mary H. Owen in Red Boiling Springs, TN.
Betty met the love of her life, Charles F. Canter, and together they wed in 1956. They began their family and raised their two children in the Indianapolis area. She was the matriarch of the family and dearly loved. She spent her time raising her children and being a homemaker. She loved to travel. She and Charles spent a lot of time riding on their Harley Davidson. Once, they rode all the way to California and back on their Harley with a few other couples. She was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother. She had a significant role in raising each of her grand and great grandchildren. She loved to shop, and would spend days out with friends or her grandchildren shopping. Betty had many dear friends and loved people. Three things Betty was really fond of were Angels, Red Cardinals, and Elvis Presley. She will me missed terribly.
Betty is survived by her beloved husband, Charles F. Canter; children, Rick (Julie) and Vicki; grandchildren, Heather Rogers (Cary), Betty Washington (Steve), Laura Blocker, Chad Canter (Kyle), Kelly Canter; great grandchildren, Gavan Rogers, Kamea Washington, Kamryn Washington, and Charlee Blocker; sister Donna Andrews
She is preceded in death by her parents Clayton M. and Mary H. Owen.
