Obituary for Betty Jean Wright
Betty Jean Wright, age 96, died on Monday, July 4th, 2022 in Carmel, Indiana. She was born in Tunnelton, IN and lived her entire adult life in Indianapolis, IN. Betty was the daughter of Harry and Grace Lee. Her husband Marvin Rex Wright and her daughter Marsha Harder predeceased her. A sister, Lillian Kimbley of Buddah, IN, son in law Alan Harder of Terre Haute, IN her daughter Jayne Nixon and her son Ken Wright (Heidi), both of Indianapolis, survive her.
Betty was a Grandmother to Jon Harder (Linda), Elizabeth Clayton (Dan), Jori Nixon and Monica Grace Wright. She was Great Grandmother to Megan Harder, Allie Harder and Grace Clayton.
Betty was an accomplished artist and calligrapher. She enjoyed working in watercolors, oil and acrylics. She also did Fraternity and Sorority Charters. These were very laborious projects where one single mistake meant starting the entire project over again. Betty was also a voracious reader. She enjoyed sharing and trading thousands of books with anyone that loved to read.
Betty was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbors. She was a kind and gentle soul who was loved by all who knew her. Memorial contributions in her honor may be directed to:
