Betty Jean Scales, 92, Fishers, passed away January 25, 2019.
She was born October 2, 1926 in Indianapolis to Roscoe and Margaret (Brown) Turner. She was married to Orval M. Scales September 12, 1942.
Betty attended Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Fishers, for many years. She and her husband were founding members of the German-American Klub of Indianapolis, sang with the Indianapolis Saenger Chor and were members of the Liederkranz. For several years Betty worked in quality control at Fred’s Frozen Foods, Noblesville, before her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Steven (Clare) Scales; daughter-in-law, Maury Scales; sisters, Norma Milburn; Lois Showecker; Patricia Blackford; Jackie Blackford; Carol Abrams; Linda Young; grandchildren, Steven (Tammi) Scales Jr.; Candance Scales; Amy (David) Replogle; Agatha Scales; Orval Richard Scales; as well as great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Orval; son Donald Scales; sisters, Helen Turner; Barbara Turner; Mary Turner.
Visitation will be held on Saturday February 2, 2019 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Connor Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 12:00pm. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
