Betty Jean Lockridge
92, of Indianapolis, passed away October 4, 2019. She was born February 13, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana as the daughter of Henry and Helen Stoltz.
She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Jack, for 56 years and became the matriarch of her family, nurturing two daughters, six grandchildren, thirteen great- grandchildren and four great- great grandchildren. She loved crocheting, doing crafts and decorating for holidays. Her grandchildren have treasured memories of visiting “Grandma Betty’s house.” Although an only child, she was close to her aunts and cousins and kept up with the whole family during her long life. She is gone but will never but forgotten.
Betty is survived by her daughters: Jane Meranda and Linda Ealy; grand-children: Russell Meranda, Spencer Meranda, Bryan Higgins, Seth Higgins, Stephanie Higbee and their respective families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Helen Stoltz, her husband, Jack Lockridge and granddaughter, Amanda Higgins.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, from 1-2pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East. There will be a service following at 2pm also at the funeral home.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
