Betty Jean Hopkins Dame

Betty Jean Hopkins Dame ended her earthy journey on March 29, 2018.  She transitioned to the next life peacefully and quietly surrounded by her loved ones.  Betty had been living for 4 years in a remodeled studio set up just for her by her son Stanley Dame.  She spent the last 3 months of her life at home recuperating from a broken hip.  She received great care from her therapists and eventually the Hospice Team.  She loved joking and teasing all her visitors, which included many great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Stanley Dame and her daughter Diana Goodman, 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family held an intimate gathering in her home immediately after her passing. She was buried at Washington Park East Cemetery close to her husband Carl Marvin Dame I who had preceded her in death 40 years before during the blizzard of 1978.

Her family is thankful for Jesus Christ who took away the sting of death.  We know that we will be reunited someday.
