Betty Jane Beasley, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 12, 2017. Betty was born to the late Isaac B. and Mary E. (Cubert) Norman on July 27, 1925 in Indianapolis, IN.
Betty attend Southport schools, and worked for a short period of time at Barbasol in Indianapolis. She married the love of her life, Maurice L. Beasley on November 6th, 1943. Maurice proceeded her in death January 1988, and she told everyone she met how much she missed him and looked forward to the day they would be reunited. She traveled extensively with her husband. They enjoyed many cruises over the years and shared time seeing the country by motorcycle. Fishing trips to Canada with her husband, and family members were her delight, but none more than when she got to take her grandchildren along. In her later years she continued to travel with her UAW 1111 fellow widows group as well as members of the church she attended.
Betty is survived by her only child, Linda K Rundio (Clayton). Betty always said, “The good Lord only gave me one child, but he gave me 6 grandchildren”. Her grandchildren, Angela (Garth) Smitman, Michael (Angela) Crist, Steven Crist, and Casey Jo (Curt) Ailes, and her step-granddaughters, Rene (Mark) Dudek, and Michelle Lyon all provided her with 9 great-grandchildren. These children made her smile everyday.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East from 10:00am to 2:00pm with services beginning at 2:00pm. Pastor Steve Ferguson officiating of Southport Heights Christian Church.
