Betty Darlene Jones

Betty D. Jones, 94, passed away peacefully January 26th, 2025. She was born February 19th, 1930, to parents John Mason and Thelma (Patterson) Hayes. 

She grew up in Beech Grove. 

Betty was a strong-willed, independent lady. She always liked to look her best and put her best face forward. She enjoyed shopping, going out to eat and going to the movies. Her family and friends were very important to her, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Betty is survived by her daughter Sharon Connell; daughter in law Pamela Jones; grandchildren Andrew (Jessica Rae) Connell, Michael (Heather) Jones, Jennifer (The Late Corey) Polen, and Margie (Brian) Prifogle; great grandchildren Jasper Connell, Gracie Jones, Emma Jones, Isaac Polen, Ethan Polen, Aubrey Polen, Damon Prifogle, Jared Prifogle, and Kadesha Prifogle; several nieces and nephews; Good friends Teresa and William Kleinschmidt and their family and Pat Conner (The Late Jim Roberts); and neighbor and friend Charles Stewart. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son Michael Jones; her brothers and sisters; granddaughter Misti Connell; lifelong friend Janet Rippy, and good friends Robert “Bob” Allen. 

Visitation for Betty will be Friday January 31st, from 11am-1pm, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East. Her funeral will be at 1pm. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East, Mt. Vernon Mausoleum.
