Bettie Jean Minton Howell, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018.
Bettie was born April 17, 1930 to the late Olan Minton, Sr. and Gladys Smith in Centertown, KY.
Bettie was a member of Wallace Street Presbyterian Church for over 30 years.
She is survived by her loving children, Sharon (Charlie Lepper), Malcom (Kathy)
Howell, Toni Diehl, Kim (Ron) Thomas, Kerry (Penny) Howell; grandchildren, Chris Taulman,
Todd Taulman, Laura Howell, Melissa Snyder, Denise Wilson, Andrea Murphy, Nicole Burch, Shannon
Howell, Sean Thomas, Ryan Thomas, Thomas Brannen, Kaylyn Thomas; great-grandchildren, Cody
Taulman, Megan Chellberg, Christian Littell, Jordan Christian, Justin Littell, Jaymen Christian, Jonah Christian, Taylor Ford,
Savannah Kinzel, Ethan Murphy, Ava Murphy, Drake Wilson, Dalton Wilson, Harley Palmer, Kiana
Howell, Jayden Howell, Connor Burch, Julian Palmer, and Jacob Emmett Thomas, as well as many
additional step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bettie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Cecil Reed Howell; siblings,
Olan Minton, Jr., Patricia Ann Johnson, and Ronald Lee Minton.
Friends and family may gather Thursday, July 26th for visitation from 10-11AM with funeral
services beginning at 11AM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington
St., Indianapolis, IN. A private graveside service will be held in Render Cemetery in McHenry,
KY. Memorial contributions may be made out to Hydrocephalus Association Development
Office, 4340 East West Highway #905, Bethesda, MD 20814-4447. Friends are invited to leave
