Bette F Nichols

Bette Nichols, 93 of Speedway passed away on December 12, 2017. She was born on July 23, 1924 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Ernest “Bud” Jenkins and Florence Ellerman Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her sister Jinny, and by the love of her life, Clayton Nichols to whom she was married for 54 years. Bette was a wonderful mother and homemaker who was blessed with many great friends. Playing golf at Highland Country Club and various tournaments throughout Indiana was what she loved doing. Along with that, she enjoyed attending the 500 race and parade every year, traveling and family activities.  She is survived by her two children, Bob Nichols and Pam Bond (Jerry) along with her two grandchildren, Jason Bond (Jennifer) and Kristen Humphries (Shawn). Bette had seven great-grandchildren – Katie, Jillian, Max, Jack, Sam, Theo, and Hadley. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 19 at 2 PM with Visitation 12 until the time of service at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd West Dr, Indianapolis.  Entombment will follow at Washington Park North Cemetery.
