Bertha Olinger, Age 78, of Indianapolis passed away on December 17, 2017. She was born March 2, 1939 to John and Willie Hopkins in Macon County, Tennessee, one of 14 children.
Family remembers Bertha as a woman who loved to shop, especially for bargains. Her husband claims she owned a card for every store in the area. Bertha loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very dearly. She also loved all 5 of her “furbabies” both past and present, especially her dear Rosie. She was a retiree of Carrier. She was a one of a kind woman who will be missed greatly by her loved ones.
Bertha is preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters. Surviving to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Burton; children, Debra (Edward) Lake, Richard (Melinda) Miller, Gloria (Tim) Ratliff, Karen (Frankie) Hren, and Katie (Kenny) Cross; 2 sisters, Lillie Fay Graber and Marie Jones; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 more on the way.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 22, 4-8 PM. Services will take place Friday, December 22 at 10 AM at Flanner and Buchanan – Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis.
