Bertha Blanche “Bea” Stawinksi,
Age 89, of Indianapolis passed away on July 11, 2017. She was born June 14, 1928 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Stanley and Mary (Maksym) Kocielski. Bea taught herself to play piano at a very young age and became quite the accomplished pianist; this accomplishment later served as an asset to her husband, Pastor Raymond Stawinski during his ministry at home and abroad during their missionary work. She a graduate of Zion Bible Institute in Haverhill Massachusetts and spent many years in Millville, New Jersey. Bea was a member Lakeview Christian Church in Indianapolis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond, daughter Judith Fackert, brothers Edwen and Marion, and sister Stella. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters, Melody (Jeff) Grula, Marcia Stawinski, Naomi (John) DeFoggi, and Ruth Stawinski, brothers, Walter Kocielski, Daniel Radford, and Paul Radford, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit from 4-7 PM Thursday July 13, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis. The funeral service will be at 10 AM Friday at the funeral home. Bertha will be laid to rest July 15, 2017 at 2 PM at Millborn Cemetery, 18550 County Hwy A41, Wadsworth, Illinois 60083.
