Bert M. Sansone

Bert Michael Sansone, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away October 14th, 2024. He was born December 9th, 1936, in Bloomington, Indiana, to parents Joseph and Edna (McGuire) Sansone. 

Bert moved to Indianapolis as a young man and graduated from Manuel High School. 

A very hard worker, he was a machine operator to Beverage Paper Company for 44 years before retiring. 

On December 5th, 1965, he married the love of his life, Mary L. Daniels. They shared almost 60 wonderful years together. 

Bert was a strong, loving family man. A true Hoosier, he was a devoted Colts fan,and loved Indy Car Racing and NASCAR. Bert was a talented bowler, and enjoyed cruising around in his car. He was passionate about fishing. He and his family traveled far and wide to find the best fishing spots, and he enjoyed sharing his passion with his family. Overall, Bert loved his family and spent as much time with them as possible. 

Bert is survived by his wife, Mary Sansone; children Janie Julbert, Robin Hess, Sue Whitham, Cathy Kirkham, and Theresa Wethington; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and his sister Jo Furgason. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Gus Sansone; and his two sons James Michael “Mike” Sansone and Gerald Rose. 

Visitation will be Wednesday October 23rd, at Flanner Buchanan Memorial Park, from 11-1pm. His funeral will begin at 1pm. He will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
