Bert Richmond

Bert Richmond, 91, of Indianapolis, died on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:21p.m. at his residence.

Bert was born on July 25, 1927 in Berea, Kentucky the son of Thurman and Addie (Croucher) Richmond. He married Betty Boyd Pennington.

He was a United States Army veteran.  He was manager of Pennington Mobile Home Park and retired in 2012.

Bert was a member of Community Christian Church and previous member of North Eastwood Christian Church.  He enjoyed reading and watching western movies, Nascar races and various activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was admired and respected for his wisdom, abilities, and accomplishments.

He is survived by his children, Daryl Richmond of Greenfield, Joy Lynn (Dave) Yurasko of Indianapolis, and Rene’ (Kerry) Hammett of Indianapolis; Grandchildren, Kasey (Dan) Wright, Amanda Taylor, Chris (Elle) Hammett, and Seth Hammett; Great Grandchildren, Cole Wright, Madison Taylor, Ethan Taylor, Emma Taylor, Kalynn Wright, Nora Taylor, Riley Taylor, and Emory Hammett; and one sister, Eva Reed of Berea, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife in 2000; and siblings, Andy Richmond, Elmer Richmond, and Jane Draut.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East Funeral Center 10722 East Washington Street and also from 9:00 A.M. to time of service on Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East Funeral Center 10722 East Washington Street with Todd Beale officiating.

Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Mausoleum with military graveside rites.

Memorial contributions may be given to Community Home Health Hospice or American Cancer Society.
