Berniece Elaine Warner

Berniece Elaine Warner, 98, living in Zionsville for 72 years, passed away February 24, 2022, in Indianapolis. She was born March 28, 1923, to Carl R. Robbins and Bernice C. (Bratton) Robbins in Indianapolis. Due to the death of her mother at birth, she was raised by Earl and Marie (Bratton) Roberts at Ladoga, IN, who had a son, Kenyon Roberts, whom she considered her brother and is still living. After graduating from Ladoga High School, she attended Indiana Central Business College. She married Oliver L. Warner, deceased, June 20, 1944, and after WWII, they came to Zionsville February 2, 1947.

Berniece is survived by five children Allen (Jean) of Brighton, MI, Elaine of Zionsville, Eloise (Bill) of Springfield, IL, Ellen (Jeff) of Corvallis, OR, and Ted of Zionsville. She has seven grandchildren: Eric and Christine Warner, Braden and Laura Stone, Jared and Gina Powers, and Brittian Warner, plus 11 great-grandchildren.

She loved music, singing, knitting, needlework, ceramics and in her later years ventured into genealogy which made possible for her to become a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a former member of the Sullivan Museum Guild. She was a woman nurtured in faith and was a member of Zionsville Fellowship.

Berniece will be reunited with Oliver for a graveside service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Zionsville Cemetery.
