Bernard Frank Wurger , 89, of Indianapolis passed away on December 21, 2022. He was born February 11, 1933, in Indianapolis to the late Frank Wurger and Margaret (Lazo) Wurger.

Bernard graduated from Ben Davis High School and went on to join the US Marines. He spent time in Japan and upon his return he enrolled at Butler University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts before going to the University of Cincinnati and earning his Master of Fine Arts. For thirty years he was an actor, choreographer and director for the Maine State Music Theater in summer stock musicals. Bernard costarred with people such as Ginger Rogers and David Canary, Bernard spent the majority of his career as a professor at Butler university and retired as Professor Emeritus. He did local theater, voice over for commercials and podcast on voice acting in his spare time.

Bernard was a bon vivant, living life to the fullest from giving speeches to black tie affairs to family gatherings. He was certainly the life of the party. His wit, wry humor and bigger than life persona will be missed.

Bernard is survived by his daughter Carin Wurger Nigrelli, Son in law Joseph D Nigrelli, grandchildren Joseph A, Vincent F and Maria E Nigrelli along with his Aunt Florence Walters and many cousins

A memorial service and the scattering of his ashes will be done at a later date. In lieu of flowers please donate to a local animal shelter.
