Bernadine Lois (Rhim) White was born May 21, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was next to the youngest of seven children born to Mabel Garnett Rhim and J Levi Rhim. She was the last of the seven siblings which included Dolthea Hart, Ernest Rhim,Garnett Rhim, Harold Rhim, Mable Williams and Evelyn Rhim. She graduated from Crispus Attucks High School. She also received a Certificate from Poro College for Scalp and Hair Treatment and Beauty Culture in1949.
Bernadine Lois Rhim White was baptized at a young age at Second Baptist Church. She then met David H White while attending Good Samaritan Baptist Church where they were married July 16, 1949. They remained faithful members to the church.
Bernadine Lois Rhim White was very active in the church. She had been on the Nurses Board, Anniversary Committees, she was a dedicated choir member until her health no longer let her. She worked with the Soup Kitchen. She also worked as a mentor teaching adults to read.
Bernadine Lois Rhim White worked at the Glove Factory and RCA (GE) until she retired in 1986 and continued to attend the retirement luncheons until health failed.
Bernadine Lois Rhim White transitioned on February 3, 2018 at 11:00 PM taking her rightful place with the Lord and back her loving husband who transitioned January 22, 2017.
She leaves behind one daughter Edna Rose White Calhoun and one grandson John David Calhoun IV, several nieces and nephews and a host of friend.
One of her favorite songs was Grace and Mercy. Your grace and mercy brought me through, I’m living this moment because of you and I want to thank you and Praise you too, your grce and mercy brought me through.
