Barbara “Tootie” C. (Henninger) Elliott

84, passed away Thursday, November 10th at home with family members in attendance. She was born in Indianapolis, IN and graduated from Arsenal Tech High School. She retired from Community Hospital East, where she worked in the Dr.’s Dining Room.

Barbara was a member of St. Francis de Sales Brightwood until their closing and then became a member of St. Therese of the Little Flower Catholic Church. She is also an associate member of the Sisters of St. Francis in Oldenburg.

Barbara and her husband, Robert were married for 44 years until his passing and raised 12 children together. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by 3 sons: Richard, Rodger and Russell.

She is survived by her children: Randall L. (Janice), Robert E., Rhonda L. Urban, Roma K. Ross, Ronald L. (Patty), Renée J. Elliott, Raymond E. (Boo), Rochelle M. Butler (Jon) and Rae Anne Brizendine; 26 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

We will always remember Mom for her dedication to her family and devotion in her faith. Friends may gather from 4pm until 8pm on Tuesday, November 15th at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Wednesday, November 16th at Little Flower Catholic Church, 4720 E. 13th St, Indianapolis, IN 46201.
