Barbara Louise Hindman, 78, of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017.
She was born on July 14, 1938 in Indianapolis to the late Carracticus and Rosie (Carter) Nichols. Barbara attended Arsenal Tech High School before meeting and marrying Jerry Neal Hindman. She worked part-time in home healthcare and babysitting. Barbara loved listening to Blue Grass and Gospel music; and in her younger days was an avid bowler and enjoyed dancing. She loved to be outdoors and spend many hours gardening and camping and fishing at Running ‘T’ Campground. Later in life she was able to find enjoyment in playing Bingo and collecting dolls.
She is survived by her children, Steve Hindman, Tammie Slodyckzi, Michael Joe Hindman, Randy Lee Hindman; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Barbara is also survived by her siblings, Sharon Nichols, Tommy Nichols and Helen Albertson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 5 siblings.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hindman will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 12noon at Flanner and Buchanan – Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
