Barbara Jean James

Together we acknowledge the joy Barbara had in serving as one of Jehovah’s Witness and the temporary pain her passing brings. Temporary because Barbara has the future hope of a resurrection from God as found in the Bible at John 5:28,29 which says “Does not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life.”

Barbara at 85 years passed away on August 11, 2018 in Carmel Health & Living Community in Carmel, Indiana. She was born April 7, 1933 to Charles E. & Cora A. Thomson, in Brooklyn, New York. From that union were three children: Winifred E. Miller (deceased), Charles E. Thomson (deceased), and Barbara Jean James. Barbara graduated from Franklin K. Lane H.S. and continued her education in college graduating from New York University. She later married and divorced Gerald A. Person, from that union two children were born. She decided to tie the knot again marrying Marshall James.

Jeanie as everyone called her was employed over twenty years as a Jr. Accountant starting her career in New York City, continuing her career with her relocation in Indianapolis, Indiana. She traveled the world with her fellow witnesses as well as sharing side by side with them in the ministry, preaching to all she came in contact with until her illness took over.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Leslie Denise Person and Michael Steven Person. Grandchildren: Monet Starr Williams, Simone Nicole Williams, April Renee Williams, Darryl Shawn WIlliams Jr., and Theresa Person. Great-Grandchildren: Kiyoko Diora Williams and Kamarian Darius Williams and a host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
