Barbara Jean Baughman

Barbara Jean Baughman, 91, of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020. She was born June 13, 1929, in Indianapolis, IN to the late Alvin and Lillian McIntosh.

Barbara spent many years as a bookkeeper with various companies and later retired from Lazarus Shoe Department. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking, music (she played the accordion and the organ), gardening and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Her big family was her pride and joy.  She was a longtime member of Holy Name and Nativity Catholic Churches.

She is survived by her 6 children: Steve (Kathy) Baughman, Terri (Alan) Kinney, Tom (Debbie) Baughman, Jeannie (Benny) Oskins, Jeff Baughman, and Susan Baughman; sister, Marjorie (Nick) Jarvis, 16 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her late husband, David H. Baughman and sister, Shirley Thomas.

Visitation for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Nativity Catholic Church, 7225 Southeastern Avenue with visitation prior from 10:00 am – 10:30 am.  Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.  Due to Marion County mandate, facial masks are required to be worn.
