Barbara Fay Rollings

Barbara F. Rollings of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on August 20, 2023, at the age of 74. She was born in Brandenburg, KY, on September 4, 1948, to parents, Donald and Thelma (Kaiser) Oakes. She graduated from Pleasure Ridge Park High School in 1966. After graduation Barbara entered government service. Barbara was a Human Resources Specialist for the Department of Defense upon her retirement in 2005.

Barbara enjoyed shopping and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her little dog, Bailey. She enjoyed traveling and lived in various places including Heidelberg, Germany, Fort Hood Texas and Fort Knox Kentucky. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

Barbara married Richard Rollings on June 24, 1978, they spent 45 wonderful years together, he survives. She is survived by daughter, Jennifer Barnett (Chris) step-daughter Terri Eaton (Chad); eight grandchildren, Rebecca and Marcus Darnall, Zachary and Olivia Barnett, Makayla Rollings, and Jenna, Owen, and Eli Eaton; three great-grandchildren, Aiyana, AJ, and Zamayla Fields; siblings, Danny Oakes (Donna), Debbie Albritton (Jerry), Donna Wood (Donnie), Anita Wick (Jeff) and Matthew Oakes (Lisa). She was preceded in death by daughter, Angela Darnall, step-son Brian Rollings, siblings Linda Bullard, Karen Morales, and Evelyn Fackler and her Mother and Father.

A visitation will be held from 11am until 2pm, Friday, August 25, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN). A Funeral Service will be held at 2pm, August 25, 2023. Private family burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to either the American Heart Association, or the Alzheimer’s Association is appreciated.
